Durability...
As the Mordax stud wears it still retains its efficiency in preventing slipping, as the centre of the stud consists of an exceptionally hard carbide pin which wears down much more slowly than the surrounding steel, always standing proud of it. The durability of Mordax Studs greatly increases the life of the shoe, and an appreciable saving is made possible in a short period of time. The life of the stud is dependant upon individual conditions - use, load etc.
Experience...
The Mordax Stud is the original non-slip device for horses, in use for more than 70 years, having been originally developed in conjunction with the Swiss Army. We have extensive experience manufacturing Mordax studs for the army, police forces, and the Royal Mews, as well as for farriers worldwide, for numerous equestrian activities.
